Lanier Healthcare has developed in-house a unique software package for PC Dictation which allows users to dictate using a “Speechmike by Philips”. The voice files can be transmitted via the facility network to a central storage server to be input as voice viles into several dictation products marketed by Lanier; VXP, CMS or Voicewriter. These voice files are readily available for transcription using the appropriate accompanying transcription software packages available for the different recorders stated previously. The system is client-server based and may be fully integrated with standard HL7 integrations or any PACS system. It may also use a standard AS CII text feed for demographics.
The Speechmike also has a barcoding option which may be utilized within the software for inputting demographics.
Lanier has developed this software which has proven very successful and accepted throughout many facilities in Canada. TVHPP Radiology and now HPHA Radiology in Southwest Ontario have been using this system in conjunction with their “GE Centricity” PACS and “MEDITECH” PACS system for over 2 years.
